A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to protesters involved in the #EndBadGovernance movement. Delivering the ruling on their bail applications, Justice Emeka Nwite set the bail at N10 million each. The protesters are required to provide sureties who are property owners in Abuja, and must submit property documents to the court, along with sworn affidavits of means.

Additionally, the court mandated that each defendant produce one surety based in Abuja, who must deposit their international passport and provide three recent passport photographs. Despite objections from the Inspector General of Police, Justice Nwite granted the bail but imposed a restriction on the protesters, barring them from participating in any public rallies until their trial is concluded. The judge also ordered the defendants to remain in custody until all bail conditions are met.

The protesters are facing charges of treason for allegedly waging war against Nigeria during their one-week nationwide demonstrations. The court has scheduled the trial to begin on September 27th.
