
A devastating attack by Boko Haram terrorists has resulted in the deaths of numerous residents in Mafa village, located in the Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, has left the community in shock and mourning. Reports indicate that at least 86 bodies have been recovered and are currently at local hospitals, while the search for more victims continues.
According to a government source, “Boko Haram carried out a massacre in Mafa village, killing approximately 100 people. The attack happened early Monday, leaving the community devastated. A mass burial is scheduled to take place in Damaturu, the State Capital. So far, 86 bodies have been recovered, but efforts to find additional victims are ongoing.”
Attempts to reach the Yobe State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, for a statement were unsuccessful. Calls were not answered, and as of the time of reporting, no response to text messages had been received.
