In Niger State, bandits have killed two men after they delivered a ransom intended to free victims abducted from Guaraka community in Tafa Local Government Area. According to LIB, the incident occurred on August 19, 2024, when bandits stormed a hotel in the community. They kidnapped everyone present, including the hotel owner, his younger brother, his wife, the manager, and three other guests.

The victims, Abubakar Sani, known locally as Nda Abu, and Ibrahim Garba Shere, also known as Alhaji Tapki, were tasked with delivering the ransom demanded by the kidnappers. Despite handing over the money, the bandits killed both men.

The deceased were buried on Saturday, September 14. Hon. Muhammad Sani, the member representing Tafa Constituency in the Niger State House of Assembly, attended the funeral. He expressed his condolences to the families and the community, honoring the victims as heroes whose contributions will be remembered.
