In response to the one-month sit-at-home order issued by Simon Ekpa’s Biafra Liberation Army, a faction of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the Imo State Police Commissioner, Aboki Danjuma, has taken significant steps to ensure security across the state. The sit-at-home directive, which runs from August 28 to September 28, prompted the Commissioner to deploy heavy security in areas specifically mentioned by the group.
To further bolster confidence among state employees, Commissioner Danjuma personally visited the state secretariat on Wednesday. During his visit, he reassured the staff of their safety and underscored the police force’s commitment to their protection.
In his interaction with the civil servants, Danjuma emphasized that the police have mobilized well-equipped operatives and implemented enhanced security strategies to maintain a secure working environment at the secretariat and other critical areas across the state.
“This strategic move underscores the Command’s dedication to upholding peace and security throughout the state,” Danjuma remarked.
