The Nigerian Police have detained Kunle Wizeman Ajayi, the 2024 governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Ondo State.
Ajayi was arrested along with Patrick Owolabi, a member of the Take It Back (TIB) Movement. The arrests took place in Akure, the Ondo State capital, during the concluding event of a nationwide protest. This protest, under the banner #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria, was organized to speak out against hunger, hardship, and poor governance.
The TIB Movement has strongly criticized the actions of the police, calling for the immediate and unconditional release of both Ajayi and Owolabi.
