A troubling incident took place in the Amuloko area of Ibadan, Oyo State, where a middle-aged man named Musa Bello was detained by local residents for carrying a fresh human skull. Bello’s attempt to hide the skull in a sack raised suspicion among passersby, who quickly intervened. Upon examination, the sack was found to contain the human skull.

During interrogation, Bello admitted to being part of a group involved in the trade of human body parts. He has since been transferred to the Oyo State Police Command for further investigation and legal proceedings.

In a similar case, in July, Nuhu Ezra was arrested in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory with a human skull and bones. According to a statement from Josephine Adeh, FCT Command Police Public Relations Officer, the police acted on reliable intelligence to track and apprehend Ezra. He claimed that he discovered the body parts while hunting in Kuje and intended to sell them for six hundred thousand naira (N600,000).

The statement noted that Ezra was arrested on July 9, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m. by operatives from the Iddo police division, who had acted on credible information about his possession of the body parts.
