A late-night collision involving two government-owned BRT buses in Lagos has resulted in several passengers sustaining injuries. The accident occurred around 11:39 PM on Tuesday at Iyana Ipaja, Alimosho Local Government Area.

According to Nosa Okunbor, Head of the Public Affairs Unit at the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the crash happened when a BRT bus, traveling towards Iyana Ipaja, swerved to avoid hitting a commercial motorcyclist who was illegally using the BRT lane. This maneuver led to a collision with an oncoming BRT bus.

LASEMA confirmed that the agency’s Dolphin Response Team from the Igando Base was dispatched following distress calls received via the 767/112 toll-free emergency lines. Upon arrival, the team found that the accident involved two BRT buses, though their registration numbers were not immediately available.

Preliminary investigations revealed that while no lives were lost, passengers on both buses sustained various injuries. All injured passengers were transported to the nearest hospital prior to the arrival of the response team.
