The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly arrested Micheal Lenin, a key leader of the ongoing Endbadgovernance protests in Abuja.

Lenin was apprehended at his residence in the Apo area of the Federal Capital Territory around 2 am on Monday. According to Damilare Adenola, Director of Mobilisation for the Take It Back Movement, DSS operatives raided Lenin’s house, assaulted him, and arrested him in the presence of his family.

Lenin, who is also the National Coordinator of the Youth Rights Campaign, had previously criticized President Bola Tinubu’s recent broadcast, stating that it showed a disconnect with the realities faced by Nigerians. He had called for the continuation of the protests, urging citizens to join in large numbers. Adenola has demanded Lenin’s immediate and unconditional release.
