The United Action Front of Civil Society released a comprehensive situation report on the #EndBadGovernance protests, highlighting significant impacts and incidents across Nigeria.

According to the report:

  • Death Toll: 21
  • Injuries: 175
  • Arrests: 1,154

The report also noted the imposition of curfews in Yobe, Maiduguri, and Kano, and detailed areas where police brutality and violence against citizens were reported, including Abuja, Adamawa, Bauchi, Bayelsa, and several other states.

The statement condemned the use of force by security agents and extra-judicial killings, urging the Inspector General of Police to address these issues promptly. It criticized the looting and vandalism, attributing these actions to miscreants allegedly sponsored to discredit the protests.

The group called for immediate engagement with protest leaders to address key demands, which include reducing fuel prices, lowering electricity tariffs, converting vehicles to CNG, combating corruption, cutting high government costs, and restructuring Nigeria’s governance. They believe addressing these issues could ease tensions and prevent further unrest.
