Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has urged the youth of the southeast to avoid participating in protests against the government. He claimed that those encouraging such protests are enemies of the country aiming to destabilize the national government. Uzodinma made these remarks in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State, during the grand finale of the All Progressive Congress (APC) campaign for the local government election.

The governor argued that the people of the region have no reason to protest against the current administration, emphasizing that the federal government and President Bola Tinubu are diligently working to resolve the economic challenges faced by the populace. As the chairman of the Southeast Governors’ Forum, Uzodinma appealed to the people to allow the government more time to address these issues.

Addressing the youth, he said, “Our enemies are trying to disorganize the national government. They will come to you, wanting you to protest. Ask those who encourage you to protest where their children are. Why should you be the ones to protest, and to protest against what? This government is our government. The government of President Bola Tinubu is our government. So nobody from the Southeast will protest. We are not aggrieved, we have hope.”

Uzodinma acknowledged the current hardships but assured that the president is working hard to release funds, improve infrastructure, and enhance food security. He encouraged the people to follow and work with their leaders.

APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, also spoke at the event, urging Nigerians to support the president in his efforts to improve living standards. Ganduje expressed confidence that Nigerians would soon see the benefits of their support for the APC, resulting in better living conditions.
