In the aftermath of the hotly contested 2022 Chairmanship election in Gwagwalada Area Council, the echoes of political fervor still resounded through the streets.

At the heart of this lingering whirlwind was Rabilu Lediza, a staunch supporter of the ruling APC party and its candidate, the incumbent chairman Honorable Adamu Mustapha Danze OBAMA. Living in close proximity to OBAMA, Lediza had been a steadfast voice of support and organization from the campaign’s inception to its tense conclusion.

However, as Honorable Abubakar Jibrin Giri assumed the mantle of Executive Chairman, replacing OBAMA, Lediza’s hopes for recognition and empowerment began to falter. Despite his unwavering loyalty and proximity to the previous chairman, Lediza found himself sidelined in the new administration’s priorities.

The frustration of being overlooked prompted Dobiza Dobiza 1, a prominent political activist, to take to Facebook and voice his dismay. In a poignant post addressed to Chairman Giri, Dobiza highlighted Lediza’s steadfast support for the APC and urged for his long-overdue recognition and empowerment.

The post struck a chord across Gwagwalada, sparking a community-wide conversation about the complexities of political loyalty and the repercussions of unmet expectations. It underscored the gap between grassroots supporters like Lediza and the political elite, where dedication often goes unrecognized amidst the shifting tides of power.

Lediza’s story serves as a poignant reminder of the challenges faced by individuals who invest their faith in political movements, only to encounter disillusionment when promises remain unfulfilled.
