
The security strategy of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, is yielding results as local hunters, acting on credible intelligence, stormed a kidnappers’ hideout in Yagba West, neutralizing several bandits and rescuing kidnapped victims.
Last week, Governor Ododo distributed security kits to local hunters recruited by his administration, urging them to pursue criminals and ensure safety in Kogi. The trained hunters successfully rescued three kidnapped victims from the camp, while some bandits escaped with gunshot wounds.
Speaking to reporters in Odo Ere, the headquarters of Yagba West Local Government Area, the State Commissioner for Information and Communications emphasized the Governor’s commitment to eradicating criminality in Kogi State. He praised the hunters for their bravery and assured them of the State Government’s continued support.
Hon. Tosin Olokun, Transition Committee Chairman of Yagba West, credited the hunters’ success to reliable intelligence. He expressed gratitude to the Governor for empowering hunters across the state to fight crime and reassured the people of Yagba West of their ongoing security.
The rescued victims recounted their harrowing experiences with the kidnappers and thanked the Local Government Chairman and the Governor for prioritizing their safety.
