Around 9 p.m. on Sunday, approximately 20 travelers were reportedly kidnapped by gunmen along the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Expressway.

The attackers ambushed the travelers between the Sagamu Area Command of the Nigeria Police and Ilisan township. Wemmy Osude, Chairman of the Ilisan Development Council, informed newsmen that the kidnapping occurred between the Area Command and Ilisan City Gate.

According to Osude, a resident of Ilisan, whose name has not been confirmed, was shot in the knee and is currently receiving treatment at Babcock Teaching Hospital. He added, “Other victims were taken into the bush. While waiting for additional information, please contact your loved ones who may be traveling on that road at this time and advise them to be cautious.”

Osude confirmed the incident and mentioned that he had discussed the matter with the Sagamu Police Area Commander. “I have spoken to the Sagamu Area Commander about this incident, and hopefully, we trust that all the security agents will go after these criminals and rescue these people,” he said.
