Worshipers at a Protestant church in the Rumukalagbor area of Rivers State were left in shock and disbelief when police unexpectedly arrested a youth leader named Tuouamene during a service. The arrest occurred just after Tuouamene had delivered an emotional testimony that moved many in the congregation.
The initial shock among the worshipers soon turned to stunned silence as word spread that Tuouamene was apprehended in connection with the death of a married mother of three. The woman’s body was found in a hotel room in the Rumuigbon area, where she had reportedly checked in with Tuouamene, an old acquaintance.
According to police sources, the married woman died under mysterious circumstances, and Tuouamene became the prime suspect. He allegedly attempted to conceal his involvement by providing false testimony at the church.
Investigations revealed that the woman, who had three children, had reconnected with Tuouamene while he was planning his wedding on April 27, 2024. The two had initially met in 2010 while studying Educational Management at the Rivers State College of Education (now Ignatius Ajuru University of Education) and had lost contact after graduating in 2012. They met again at Tuouamene’s wedding, leading to their rendezvous on May 14, 2024.
