An unidentified woman leaped to her death from the Ekpan flyover in Uvwie local government area of Delta State.
This tragic event, which took place on Saturday afternoon, marks the first recorded suicide at this flyover.
State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident, stating that by the time police arrived, the woman’s body had already been removed. “We heard of the incident, but before our men got there, they took the corpse of the woman away,” said the police.
Eyewitnesses told the Vanguard that the middle-aged woman, apparently in her 30s, screamed that she was tired of hardship before jumping to her death.
In a related incident, one person reportedly lost their life in a kidnapping on the busy Warri-Sapele road on Friday night around 8 pm.
