In an ongoing crackdown against criminal activities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), police executed a successful operation on Friday, leading to the arrest of several suspects. The FCT Command’s Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, released a statement on Sunday detailing the operation’s success.

The operation resulted in the arrest of Yahaya Abubakar, 25, from Mpape, Mohammed Mohamed, 32, from Zuba (an ex-convict), Umar Aliyu, 20, and Nura Abdullahi, 32, also an ex-convict from Kubwa and Zuba hills, respectively. Adeh noted that these individuals admitted to being part of a notorious bandit group known as “Mai One Million,” which has been linked to numerous kidnappings and other serious crimes in the FCT and surrounding areas.

Adeh explained that the coordinated raid led to a gunfight between the bandits and the police, causing the bandits to flee and allowing the safe rescue of their victims. She further reported that all illegal structures set up by the kidnappers in the patrolled camps were demolished during the operation.
