Troops and Special Forces under Operation Whirl Punch (OPWP) conducting patrols in the Kachia-Kajuru axis neutralized five bandits in the Dantarau area of Kajuru Local Government Area in Kaduna State. This information was communicated to the Kaduna State Government.
According to the report, the troops undertook operations to clear the Maro-Enugu axis spanning Kachia and Kajuru LGAs. In the Dantarau community, the troops encountered bandits and, following a brief exchange, neutralized five of them. The troops recovered two AK-47 rifles, one locally fabricated sub-machine gun, nine AK-47 magazines, 250 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, two motorcycles, and two handheld radio sets.
Similarly, the Air Component of Operation Whirl Punch successfully targeted bandit camps in the Sabon Birnin Daji area of Igabi LGA. A statement issued by Samuel Aruwan, Overseeing Commissioner for the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs in Kaduna State, confirmed that credible intelligence sources reported the successful operation, resulting in several bandits being taken out. Some bandits sustained injuries and are reportedly seeking medical support in the area.
Aruwan’s statement warned locals against providing medical support to questionable individuals without notifying security agencies. Citizens are advised to report to the 24 Operations Room at 0903400006 and 08170189999.
Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, expressed elation at the breakthrough, commending the troops under the leadership of Major General MLD Saraso, General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army, for their determined efforts. The Governor also praised Air Vice Marshal NN Ananaba, Air Officer Commanding, Air Training Command, and his team for their outstanding contribution to the state’s security. The Governor urged the military to maintain the momentum of operations.
