The Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has apprehended an 18-year-old suspect, Mubarak Abdullahi, for allegedly vandalizing LED road stud lights on the newly renovated Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State. The suspect is accused of removing 10 LED road stud lights that were installed to enhance road user visibility.
In a statement on Friday, the RRS reported that the suspect was caught red-handed around 10 am earlier in the day by operatives patrolling the bridge.
Meanwhile, the RRS Commander, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, had deployed bike riders for 24-hour security patrols in the area weeks ago to monitor traffic and protect infrastructure on the bridge.
