The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, embarked on a visit to Nigeria to promote Prince Harry’s initiative, the Invictus Games, where injured service members compete in various sports.

During their visit, they interacted with children at Lights Academy in Abuja, discussing mental health, a topic often stigmatized in Nigeria. They emphasized the importance of addressing mental health challenges and encouraged students not to suffer in silence.

The couple also visited a kindergarten class, where Meghan shared that their son Archie recently turned five. Additionally, they were in Nigeria to support the Invictus Games and explore the possibility of Nigeria hosting the event in the future.

This visit, initiated by the Prince, served as a thank-you gesture, and the Nigerian Army is considering hosting the Invictus Games. Meghan’s recent revelation of having Nigerian ancestry added to the anticipation of their visit.

Next on their itinerary is Kaduna, where they will meet with injured service members, followed by Lagos for basketball and polo games. Their visit concludes on Monday.
