Sholabomi, the wife of Ayotunde Richards, a gospel singer and former member of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), currently held in Ikoyi Prison, has been requested by a police team from Abuja to appear at their office.

Meanwhile, her husband remains incarcerated after being remanded over accusations of cyberbullying and libel against MFM General Overseer, Daniel Olukoya.

A Federal High Court in Lagos granted bail to Ayotunde Richards last Wednesday, yet he has not met the bail conditions.

Our reporters gathered that around eight police officers from the Federal Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja visited her residence in the Magboro area of Ogun on Wednesday evening to effect an arrest.

The police asserted the existence of a petition against her but failed to present it to her.

This was corroborated by the family’s lawyer, Mr. Adesina Ogunlana, in a video posted on Facebook titled, ‘Latest On The Mountain Of Fire And Miracles Ministry (MFM) Vs The Ayotunde Richards Family.’

He detailed how the police obtained her statement without revealing the petition allegedly written against her by MFM.

According to the lawyer, the police opted not to arrest her to avoid leaving her three young children without adult supervision.

Ogunlana stated, “Armed police numbering 8 from Abuja invade Mrs. Solabomi Richards in her matrimonial home this evening 1st May 2024; husband still in prison custody.

“Police obtained her statement without showing her the petition they claimed is written against her by MFM, changed their mind to take her away to Abuja because of her three underaged children alone with her, ordered her to appear in their office Wednesday 8th May 2024.”

Our reporters previously covered the story of Ayotunde Richards and 23-year-old blogger Adewale Ajimosogbe, both remanded over alleged cyberbullying and libel, who remain in prison seven days after being granted bail by the Federal High Court in Lagos.

They were accused of libelling MFM General Overseer, Olukoya.

It was learned that they are yet to fulfill their bail conditions, as stipulated by the Lagos court, one week after the ruling.

In a judgment on Wednesday, April 24, Presiding Judge Ambrose Allagoa declared the charges against them bailable.

They are required to provide sureties with landed properties in Lagos, which they have not secured to date.

Our reporters also reported on Richards’ arrest following a petition from Davidson Adejuwon, accusing him of various acts of cyberbullying and libel against Olukoya.

Similarly, Ajimosogbe, the Publisher of PostReporters, was arrested in the Okitipupa area of Ondo State for republishing a SaharaReporters’ story on Richard’s N15.5-billion-naira fundamental human rights case against MFM leader, Davidson Adejuwon, and the Nigeria police.

Ajimosogbe allegedly added his commentary labeling Olukoya as a criminal.

Richards had initiated a suit against Olukoya for alleged breach of his fundamental human rights, naming other respondents including Davidson Olaniran Adejuwon Esq, Superintendent of Police Tawose Ayoleyi Ajayi, and the Nigeria Police Force.

Richards, formerly the leader of the cleric’s backup singers, claimed that Olukoya detained him at the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Alagbon, Ikoyi, for eight days.
