The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather forecast indicating the occurrence of dust, haze, and thunderstorms from Saturday to Monday nationwide. According to NiMet’s weather outlook released in Abuja on Friday, dust haze is expected over parts of Borno, Yobe, Jigawa, and the northern part of Adamawa on Saturday. Additionally, isolated thunderstorms are projected over parts of Bauchi, Kaduna, and Taraba during the morning hours, with localized thunderstorms anticipated later in the day over parts of Kaduna and Taraba, while the remaining northern regions are expected to experience sunny skies.
In the North Central region, cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine are forecasted during the morning hours, with chances of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Niger, Nasarawa, Plateau, the Federal Capital Territory, and Kwara states during the afternoon and evening periods. Similarly, the southern states are expected to experience cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine, with chances of thunderstorms over various parts during the morning periods, expanding to include additional states later in the day.
On Sunday, the northern region is expected to have sunny skies with patches of cloud, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms over parts of Taraba during the morning hours, followed by thunderstorms over parts of Bauchi, Gombe, Zamfara, Kaduna, Adamawa, and Taraba states later in the day. The North Central region should experience cloudy conditions with isolated thunderstorms over parts of Kogi, the Federal Capital Territory, and Niger states during the afternoon and evening hours. Meanwhile, the southern region is forecasted to be mostly cloudy with isolated thunderstorms over select states during the morning hours, expanding to include additional states later in the day.
On Monday, a sunny atmosphere with patches of cloud is anticipated over the northern region, with isolated thunderstorms projected over parts of Jigawa, Bauchi, and Gombe states during the morning hours, extending to other states as the day progresses. The North Central region should experience cloudy conditions with isolated thunderstorms over select states during the afternoon and evening hours.
