Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Usaini Gumel, announced that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has resolved the royal crisis in the state. Speaking at a press briefing at Government House, Kano, on Sunday night, Gumel explained the police’s role in the emirship dispute, emphasizing that the police would enforce the law.

Gumel revealed that security operatives had uncovered a plot to cause mayhem in the state, targeting locations such as the House of Assembly. He warned troublemakers to steer clear of the crisis, asserting that the law would catch up with anyone challenging the resolve of security forces.

He stated, “We have received credible information about miscreants trying to unleash terror at locations, particularly the House of Assembly and other key places within the state. It has been verified by many sources.”

Gumel assured that security measures were in place, including serious patrols and house-to-house searches, to address any threats. He declared, “Anybody who wants to test the ground, the security has the capacity to deal with the miscreants. We have perfected plans to embark on serious patrols and detection on locations where we are informed the miscreants are hiding.”

He affirmed that Kano would remain safe and that no one could override the executive arm’s decisions regarding chieftaincy affairs. Gumel also mentioned that various groups had been mobilized and paid to carry out attacks and disrupt peace, which security forces were prepared to counter.
