A staff member of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) identified as Khalid Bichi was tragically shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the Maitama area of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. According to a security source, the assailants trailed Bichi and opened fire around 9 pm.
The incident occurred when Bichi went to get food in Maitama. He was rushed to Maitama General Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Bichi, known by his social media handle @Khalid_Bichi, had connections with influential politicians and will be laid to rest after a funeral prayer at the Abuja National Mosque.
His profile message on X read, “If you Ever Hear Of My Death Please Make Dua For Me.” Meanwhile, another X user, @Deblak26, reported a separate incident where his friend was stabbed, robbed of his phone, and had his data stolen in Garki.
Efforts to reach the Federal Capital Territory Police Command for comment were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
