The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced the apprehension of 132 suspected internet fraudsters across Kwara, Cross River, and Osun States.

Dele Oyewale, EFCC’s spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement released on Friday in Abuja. Oyewale specified that 64 suspected cybercriminals were captured in Ede, Osun State, based on actionable intelligence regarding their dubious activities.

Among the items recovered from the suspects were 18 exotic vehicles, 18 laptops, 112 mobile phones, three PlayStation games, five motorcycles, and various incriminating documents.

Additionally, 25 suspects were arrested during two separate sting operations in Ilorin, Kwara State. Oyewale mentioned that credible intelligence prompted these operations, resulting in the recovery of six exotic cars, assorted phones, and laptops.

Furthermore, 44 suspected fraudsters were apprehended on Thursday in Satellite Town, Tinapa Junction, and Parliamentary Extension areas of Calabar, Cross River State. Recovered items included six exotic cars, 16 laptops, and 38 mobile phones.

Oyewale emphasized that all suspects would face charges in court once investigations are concluded.
