Two other suspected accomplices are in police net in connection to the crime, according to the police.

A Nigerian man has been apprehended for allegedly orchestrating the murder of his wife, as disclosed by Chronicles Reporters.

Police authorities have also detained two other suspected accomplices linked to the crime, according to official sources.

The tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday at the victim’s residence, located at number 5, Road 4, Police Estate, within the Kurudu neighborhood of Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory.

The news of the middle-aged woman’s murder, whose identity remains undisclosed, plunged residents of the estate into mourning upon hearing the grim report.

Eyewitnesses from the neighborhood reported observing a young man loitering near the deceased’s house shortly before her lifeless body was discovered in a pool of blood.

Detailing the sequence of events, a witness, who chose to remain anonymous, recounted, “The suspected assailant arrived at the house on a motorcycle, commonly known as ‘rubber-rubber,’ parked outside, surveyed the surroundings, and then entered the residence.”

Subsequent investigations uncovered that the victim’s husband, now a prime suspect, stumbled upon the corpse and made efforts to conceal it.

“Instead of raising an alarm, he attempted to remove his late wife’s body through the rear exit, instructing his children not to alert anyone,” another resident disclosed.

However, vigilant security personnel within the estate grew suspicious of his actions. They intercepted him as he attempted to drive away, conducted a search, and discovered the deceased’s body in his vehicle.

Confronted with the evidence, he purportedly claimed that an unknown assailant had murdered his wife, according to eyewitnesses.

Further revelations suggested that the husband deliberately left the house gate open to facilitate the assailant’s entry while escorting his daughter to school earlier that fateful day.

Regarding possible motives, it was disclosed that trouble had brewed between the couple since last year when the deceased suspected her husband of having an affair with her younger sister. The sister, reportedly unwilling to end the illicit relationship, exacerbated the tension.

The murder case has been reported to the Police Division headquarters in Kurudu, Abuja, while the victim’s remains have been deposited at the morgue of the Asokoro General Hospital, according to a senior police officer speaking on condition of anonymity.

He affirmed, “Three suspects, including the deceased woman’s husband, are currently in our custody. We will conduct a discreet investigation until all individuals involved in this atrocious act are apprehended for prosecution.”

Efforts to obtain further details from the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Josephine Adeh, were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
