The Oyo State Government has announced its endorsement of over N332 million for the refurbishment of the governor’s lodge located in Lagos State. This decision, among others, was reached during the State Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday, as disclosed in a brief statement released to the public.

The statement outlines several approved projects, including the regularization of employment for 129 workers at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to ensure they receive all civil service benefits.

Additionally, the council approved the clearing of the North-East segment of the 110 km Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road, starting from Badeku area along Ibadan/Ife expressway to Molarere on Moniya-Iseyin Road. This project, awarded to M/S Picoraod Company Ltd for N3.5 billion, entails bush clearing, topsoil removal, culvert construction, and earthworks within a six-month duration.

Furthermore, the remodelling and renovation of the Governor’s Lodge, Guest Chalets, Boys Quarters, and Liaison Office at Ikeja, Lagos, were awarded to Feyton Lanreolu Associates Limited for N332,134,999.05, with a completion period of three months.

Another approved project includes the asphaltic improvement of the dualised Mapo-Oritamerin Road (0.5 km) as an extension of the asphaltic improvement of the dualised Bus top Gate-Molete Bridge. Ratcon Construction Company Limited was awarded this project for N373,809,539.41.

Moreover, the government allocated N691,307,039.86 towards investing in Wema Bank’s rights issuance program as part of efforts to secure the future of Oyo State.

Additionally, a N10 billion facility was approved to provide counterpart funding for World Bank Assisted programs such as BESDA, Oyo-CARES (NG-CARES), and NEWMAP.
