
In a bid to quell by unrest sparked by Yoruba nation agitators, Oyo State Police have intensified efforts to apprehend the masterminds behind the recent invasion of the government secretariat in Ibadan. The agitators, in a brazen attempt to assert their cause, stormed the Oyo State House of Assembly complex within the secretariat premises, unfurling their flag amidst the chaos.
Commissioner of Police for Oyo State, Mr. Adebola Hamzat, addressing the media in Ibadan on Monday, paraded 21 detained agitators, underscoring the gravity of the situation. Hamzat revealed that investigations have unearthed lists purportedly detailing the identities of sponsors fueling the agitation.
During the confrontation, clashes ensued resulting in injuries to both agitators and law enforcement personnel. Hamzat clarified that no fatalities were reported during the incident. The hunt for the sponsors continues as authorities strive to restore order and uphold the rule of law in Oyo State.
