The Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) community is currently in turmoil following the abduction of Dr. Comfort Adokwe, a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Administration and Deputy Director of Gender Studies at the university. The incident took place on Sunday night when unknown gunmen invaded her residence in Angwan Jaba, Keffi.
Chairman of the Community Development Association, Comrade Ali Sule, confirmed the distressing news to Daily Post, explaining that the gunmen entered the lecturer’s compound late at night, firing shots into the air before abducting her. Sule called on security agencies to take swift action to ensure Dr. Comfort Adokwe’s safe return.
This kidnapping comes on the heels of another incident just one week ago when four students from the same university were abducted from their hostel near Angwan Kare. The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N20 million for their release and reportedly reached out to the school authorities with their demands. The NSUK community is now grappling with concerns over the safety of its members as these incidents of abduction continue to unfold.
