Late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as MohBad, submitted a petition to the Nigerian Police Force, highlighting several threats to his life allegedly posed by the controversial socialite, Samson Balogun, also known as Sam Larry, among others. This document surfaced online on Thursday.

On June 27, 2023, MohBad filed a petition titled “Petition of Threat to Life, Malicious Damage of Properties Valued at Five Million Naira, Assault Occasioning Harm, Oppression, and Conduct Likely to Cause a Breach of Peace” against Sam Larry and Oba Elegushi of Eti-Osa, Lagos State.

A video circulating on the internet depicts MohBad and Zlatan on set for a music video when Sam Larry and a group of individuals reportedly targeted the late singer.

The video has triggered reactions on social media, with Nigerians urging the Nigeria Police Force to apprehend Sam Larry and MohBad’s former label boss, Naira Marley, to unravel the circumstances surrounding MohBad’s death.

Sam Larry, reported to be an associate of Naira Marley, has deactivated his Instagram account due to the torrent of cyberattacks received following the emergence of the video.

Meanwhile, MohBad’s petition, as seen by The Whistler, was addressed to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Nigeria Police Force, Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos.

In the petition, the late singer implored the NPF to safeguard his life and described how he and fellow artist Zlatan Ibile were assaulted by Sam Larry on June 25, 2023, during a music video shoot.

MohBad also stated that during the assault, the attackers claimed to be working on behalf of Oba Elegushi.

The petition read, “I, a law-abiding citizen and a musician, bring to your attention the assault and threat to my life by the above-mentioned individuals.

“On June 25, 2023, while filming a video with another artist named Zlatan Ibile, about fifteen individuals led by Sam Larry Elegushi invaded the premises armed with dangerous weapons such as guns and cutlasses, disrupting the video shoot, damaging equipment valued at approximately five million Naira, and issuing threats on my life.

“In the process, they became violent, assaulted me, and I sustained injuries but narrowly escaped. Attached to this petition are pictures documenting the incident.

“The total cost of the damaged equipment used for the shoot amounts to eight million Naira (N8,000,000), which is non-refundable.

“Furthermore, during the assault, they declared that they acted under the orders of Oba Elegushi, and they continue to threaten my life if encountered.

“I respectfully implore your office to protect me from the aforementioned individuals and bring them to justice. I appreciate your prompt intervention.”

SaharaReporters previously announced that the Nigerian police have initiated an investigation into the sudden death of MohBad. As a former signee of Naira Marley Records, MohBad’s passing has raised numerous questions and speculations regarding the cause of his demise.
