Government is primarily about the people’s interest not the sole representation of the elected while leadership is the process of achieving effective representation that focuses on the electorates.
Leadership in Africa, is way beyond definition, it is local, brutish, greedy and selfish. It has been reduced to a cult that services the aggrandizement of the elites while the represented are left without a compass or bearing. Welcome African style of leadership.
Representative leadership within a democratic system of governance places high premium on the principles of devolution of power, it is called the separation principles of power that seeks to centralize and decentralize power.
At the executive level of power which forms the machineries to aid the principal executive arms of government as one of the three tiers of government, we find shenanigans and outright rascality of power which misconstrued power and the concept of power.
Positions of leadership within whatever capacity in Africa, is viewed as a set stage for outright subjugation and abuse of power. Leadership in Africa, is erroneously viewed as an enthronement to be deified as a mini god. The focus is not the process but the authority it wails to deal with perceived unfaithful.
This explains why processes of reformations are jettisoned and incompetence are enthroned. Today, is about loyalty not excellent performance to rise within a job designation. This is crystal clear why sycophants and boat lickers are excessively dominant within our workspace.
The common vocabularies characterizing praiser singers in their quest to obtain their meal tickets are; Oga sir, your honor sir, your boy dey loyal oooh. This are unfortunate curriculum vitae required for job transitions and promotion within our workspace not competence nor possessing the requisite certifications. Once you have the anointing of a superior then you are licensed to do and undo and nothing dey happen wallahi. What a hell.
In as much as we desire an automation of a process mechanically using the right technology, it becomes unarguably necessary to automate our process within the human context without necessarily having to lobby or stay yes sir to a superior to have your entitlements endorsed. Can you see the gross hypocrisy within our system that amplifies an idiot to view themselves not only superiors within a systemic process but by extension within the human enclaves.
This is the failure of leadership in Africa, the lack of automating a process within the context of systemic excellence but the arrogance and abuse of position that exalt one a dictator. YES SIR.
May God deliver us from eye service, it’s a plaque undoing whatever we have strive to do as a people. This is the actual diagnosis of the current polyvalent psychological mismatch affecting our dear nation Nigeria and Africa at large.
