Hon. Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has humbly requested that individuals refrain from erecting congratulatory billboards and advertisements in his honor. In an official statement released by Mr. Anthony Ogunleye, Director of Press at the Office of the Minister, this sentiment was conveyed on Sunday in Abuja.

The statement conveyed Wike’s deep appreciation for the warm wishes and support he has received from citizens. However, he kindly and firmly urged that such billboards and ads be halted immediately. The Minister recognizes the overwhelming goodwill from residents of the FCT and beyond, and acknowledges the sentiment behind these displays. He is genuinely touched by the outpouring of support.

Nevertheless, Wike’s commitment to public service and his responsibilities takes precedence. He is determined to focus his energies on assisting President Bola Tinubu in realizing his vision and the renewed hope agenda for Nigeria.

Hon. Wike’s primary duty lies in contributing to the development and prosperity of the FCT, as well as the well-being of its residents and the nation at large. His dedication to fulfilling this role with sincerity and commitment remains unwavering. He holds the aspirations and expectations of FCT residents in high regard.

The statement emphasized that the most effective way to achieve these goals is by concentrating all efforts on the tasks at hand and collaborating with fellow public servants to serve the country to the best of their abilities.

Hon. Wike hopes that the public will understand his perspective and continue to extend their support and cooperation. He is eager to work alongside all stakeholders to build a stronger, more prosperous, and united FCT and Nigeria.
