The Statement of El Rufai, the immediate past governor of Kaduna state, reveals the hypocrisy among the political class to advance their personal cravings through inflammatory statement that promotes divisive tendencies, religious intolerance, schism and tensions.
If allowed unchecked, the pace is set to strengthen their shenanigans and may navigate the country to the path of religious conflicts. In a sane country, El Rufai, should have been invited to explain what he meant by the many divisive statements he uttered.
This are categories of leaders who lack the sense of good governance and what Politics entails but paddling the wheels of ideological crisis by their fastidious speech.
The likes of El Rufai, are opportunist who stumbled on the political scenes on the wings of a godfather, this explains the injustice in our system that promote equity and fairness. Today, the rich and grooming their kids to take over government and one begins to wonder what hope is there for the poor.
If a person of his pedigree could condescend so low to making such inciting statement in a state presumed to be secular, it becomes clear those behind the sponsors and killings of innocent Nigerians under the guise of religious conflict.
I condemn such statement in totality and call on the government to investigate his claims because the consequences of such utterances may set the drums rolling for violence to erupt in a country controlled by the forces of religion.
