The Take-It-Back Movement (TIB), a human rights and pro-democracy group, has taken a stand against Lucky Steel Industrial Limited, an Indian-owned company, for its alleged negligence and abandonment of one of its workers, Nasirudeen Ishola. Nasirudeen suffered a severe accident during his work, resulting in the loss of three fingers.

In a statement released on their verified Twitter handle, TIB expressed their outrage and demanded immediate redress for Nasirudeen’s injury, which occurred in the course of his employment. The group emphasized that they would exhaust all lawful means at their disposal to ensure that Nasirudeen receives appropriate compensation for the irreparable loss he has endured.

According to the statement, Lucky Steel Industrial Limited, a company involved in construction, as well as the production of Aluminum, Iron, and Steel, failed to fulfill its responsibility in providing necessary medical treatment to Nasirudeen, who sustained the injuries while working for the company. The movement further highlighted the company’s consistent unfair labor practices, including paying Nasirudeen a mere N15,000 after subjecting him and others to long working hours without health insurance or any other working benefits mandated by law.

The statement sheds light on the details of the tragic incident, which took place on May 19, 2023, resulting in the amputation of Nasirudeen’s fingers. It condemns the company’s complete disregard for the welfare of its employee and its failure to provide him with proper compensation.

In strong terms, TIB expresses its condemnation of Lucky Steel Industrial Limited’s actions and pledges to utilize all legal avenues at their disposal to ensure that Nasirudeen receives the justice and compensation he deserves. The group firmly asserts its commitment to fighting for the rights of workers and holding companies accountable for their actions.
