Edward Onoja, has been an ardent loyalist to Yahaya Adoza Bello, he offered himself a mercenary against his own people in his quest to capture state power. He forgot in a hurry that men need men to ascend the political ladder. He was wrongly advised to burn the bridge he will require some days to ply and access the very same people.
I have counselled on several occasions that leadership is not a beauty pageant but the current leadership structures in kogi state has condescended to the abyss of primitive and ossified leadership pattern inimical to the cultures of modern day politics.
The true definition of leadership is not in the wearing of Agbada and royal purples. It is not making an entertainment industry out of the state house by opening the State Treasury to celebrities and Nollywood actors and actresses. Leadership is a positive gestures towards the electorates in terms of justice and equity for all.
It is now harvest time, the seed of yesterday has become a plant, the question to ask is; what kind of fruit has it or is still producing? The game has suddenly become interesting, will two brothers be up against each other and watch strangers takeover their inheritance or will the throne of the igala traditional stool speak at such crucial point in time.
Muri, is a game changer in the words of Alhaji Umar-Farouk Jibril Okpanachi. Therefore will the governorship of kogi state become a compensation for aligning with the struggle that birthed this administration at the federal level or will an Abra Kadabra evolve in form of an appreciation for been a good faithful.
Edward Onoja, aligned to a struggle he is today a beneficiary of. Will the party leaders consider such precedence and excuse him out of Lord Lugguard’s house for another to takeover.
It takes beyond olamaboro to become a governor, it takes the entire kogi state. Will the oil of the incumbent work in his favor or have the other aspirants under the same platform of APC, turned loyal to the white lion.
Two persons have the advantage of a firm alliance with the federal. One an incumbent while the other an aspirant. Will the force at the federal compromise the outgoing with the bait of an offer to relinquish power to the second who stand currently as an aspirant. I think the game is about to metamorphose from state wing to federal dictations.
If this happens. Hmmm. Edward Onoja, that’s all. What is left maybe the brutality and finishing and your aspirations maybe shifted to a later date.
May God intervene in Kogi state and help us to get it right this time around. May we be pulled out from the dungeon of primitive politics that sponsors thuggery and banditry.
