5 Nigerian Schoolgirls defeated Team USA, China, Spain, Turkey and 110 other countries to win the 2018 World Junior Technovation Challenge at Silicon Valley, San Francisco, USA.
They made FD Detector app which detects fake drugs, and beat 2,000 App Developers to represent Africa
Their names are Promise Nnalue, Jessica Osita, Nwabuaku Ossai, Adaeze Onuigbo and Vivian Okoye.
Their team was called Team Save A Soul.
They were students of Regina Pacis Secondary School in Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria.
Their Teacher was Onwuamaegbu Ugwu.
Four Nigerian Ladies namely Praise David-Oku, Sonam Kumar, Nmesoma Ogbonna and Grace Akpoiroro won the 2015 World Technovation Challenge.
They beat contestants from 64 countries with the presentation of their waste disposal app called Discardious.
380 apps were also pitched.
