The Supreme Court adjourned its judgement in the new naira policy suit until March 3, 2023, on Wednesday.
The court, which heard the case on Wednesday, was crammed with Senior Advocates of Nigeria and other lawyers.
The Court had temporarily suspended the CBN’s ban on old N200, N500, and N1,000 notes, which was set to go into effect on February 10.
The claim was filed by the states : Zamfara, Kogi, and Kaduna against the Federal Government and the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Several states, including Niger, Kano, Ondo, and Ekiti, had requested to be included in the suit against the CBN and the Federal Government.
Lagos State, through its Attorney General, Moyosore Onigbanjo, has filed an application to join the litigation.
Bayelsa State, led by Damian Dodo, had also applied to be added as a respondent in the litigation. Similarly, Edo State demanded to be included as a respondent.
