Dr. Cletus Tyokyaa, the director general of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship campaign council, was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for having N100,000.
Shortly after casting his vote in his hometown of Gbajimba, which is part of Guma LGA, Governor Samuel Ortom revealed this to journalists.
He said that the anti-graft agency caught Tyokyaa after discovering the cash in his possession.
“I heard from the director general of our campaign that he had been taken into custody by the EFCC this morning for carrying N100,000. And what is that? Are they a destabilizing agent? It’s sad and unfortunate.
“Why should they pick up someone for N100,000? I’d like to demand that the EFCC release him immediately. “I have over N100,000 on me, but I’m not buying votes, and he’s not buying votes,” the governor raged.
